Crew 64 Scrapbook
BRCT - 2004
BRCT  (Brazos River Canoe Trip)  was Crew 64's first Super Activity.  It took place on a
50-mile stretch of the Brazos River at Worth Ranch near Palo Pinto, Texas.   This 5 day,
47-mile canoe trip left all of us with memories that will last a lifetime.  One of our crew,
Jessica, got sick the first day out and had to return to the camp.  Ms. Missy, Ms. Jennifer
and the lead guide, Tony brought her back on an adventurous nighttime trip on the river.
Mr. David and Ms. Jennifer had to make an extra trip to the store due to a supply
shortage and became our heroes when they brought back Dr. Pepper and Frito Pie!  Ms.
Dawn came prepared with a dining fly that kept us out of the rain the first night and the
sun for the next couple of days.
Lynzie proved she was an outdoorswoman right off when she showed the boys that she
could use a hatchet on an unsuspecting piece of tree branch.  Blake earned the
nickname "The Exitman" for his uncanny ability to swiftly exit his canoe when it  stopped
fast on a rock!  Congratulations to Travis for being the most adventurous; he was the first
to get hurt when he put his hand in a  'Cactus',  later he got 'Cut', run over by his own
'Canoe', stuck in a 'Cave' and spilt a 'Coke'!  Keep those "C" words away from Travis.
There was also an unusual sighting by the crew of a Mermaid-man!
Mr. David was out of his canoe rendering assistance to an upturned canoe when Ms.
Missy lost control of her canoe and almost ran over him - did she really loose control???
The crew also enjoyed doing skits at the Friday night bon-fire and jumping off the rock at
the last campsite.  There was also an impromptu meeting on the road back with Troop 64
during a pit stop!
