the victim's head firmly between your knees.

HOW TO FIND DIRECTION WITHOUT A COMPASS
A. Look at trees. If moss is growing on one side, the mossy side is
north.
B. Locate the Little Dipper. Its handle points west.
C. Wet your finger and hold it up to the wind. Away from large bodies
of water, wind generally blows south to north.
HOW DO YOU MINIMIZE THE CHANCES OF BEING
ATTACKED BY A BEAR AT NIGHT
A. Keep a light on.
B. Squeeze out a tube of toothpaste within 25 feet of your campsite.
Bears hate the smell.

HOW DO YOU TO TREAT A FISH STING
A. Use a tourniquet to isolate the affected area

A. Alternate sucking on the infected area and soaking it in water at

let it bleed freely.
C. Remove the nail to let the infection breathe.

HOW DO YOU STOP A RUNAWAY HORSE?
A. Lean forward and sing to the horse while pulling steadily on it's
mane. When it slows, pull one leg over and jump off to the side.

pull to one side. The horse will walk in a circle until it is bored and
stops.
C. Show the horse you are in control by shouting into its ear and
covering its eyes. It will slow enough for you to jump off.

A. It will bump you first.

HOW TO MAKE A SPLINT
A. Raise the limb above the heart for three minutes. Wind cloth
around the limb as tightly as is comfortable.
B. Take anything rigid and flat (a board, ruler, etc.) and bind it to the
limb with cloth. Do not reposition the limb.
C. Reposition the broken or fractured limb as best you can.

naturally.

lead you to water.

indicates that there is water in the crack. Stick a rag in the crack, they
suck on the rag.
HOW TO TAKE A STRAIGHT PUNCH TO THE FACE
A. Turn your head quickly to the side and clench your jaw to
protect your muscles from tearing.
B. Close your eyes. Take a deep breath and exhale on impact.
C. Move toward the punch and try to make it land on your forehead

HOW TO SAVE A DROWNING VICTIM - WITHOUT
DROWNING YOURSELF
A. Bring along an item for him/her to hold on to. Do not let the
drowning person grab you.
B. Do not get in the water to save someone who is drowning. Call
emergency rescue for help.
C. Only go out into the water to save someone if you're wearing a
life preserver or lifejacket.
HOW TO TREAT A FAINTING VICTIM
A. Lay the victim flat and put a pillow under his/her head. If this person
doesn't come to within 10 minutes, call 911.
B. Lay the victim on his/her back, head to one side. After waking, this
person should wait 10 minutes before standing.
C. Lay the victim in a fetal position and call 911. Do not let this person
get up before receiving medical attention.
HOW TO REDUCE THE ABSORPTION OF POISON
WHEN UNABLE TO SEEK MEDICAL TREATMENT
A. Eat two slices of burnt black toast with one teaspoon of strong
tea and one piece of chalk.
B. Drink a glass of milk mixed with two tablespoons of flour; the
calcium will help to dissolve the potency of the poison.
C. Drink half a cup of soda water.
HOW TO OPEN MOST LOCKED INTERIOR DOORS
A. Stick a hairpin between the doorknob and its metal plate.
B. Slip a credit card between the door and the doorjamb, pushing
upward. When you hit the lock, jostle the card until you jimmy the door
free.
C. Insert a screwdriver into the holes on the front of the doorknob and
turn it until the door unlocks.
HOW TO TREAT A PERSON AFFECTED BY HEAT CRAMPS
A. Massage the victim's muscle to increase blood flow and regulate
body temperature.
B. Lightly stretch the affected muscle and give the victim half a glass
of cold water every fifteen minutes.
C. Place an icepack on the victim's cramp to decrease swelling and
pain in the muscle.
HOW TO TELL WHEN YOU ENTER AN OCEAN
CURRENT
A. The water changes color and temperature.
B. You will feel a swirling up and down your legs.
C. The wind travels in the opposite direction of the current.
HOW TO TREAT YOUR WALLS IF CAUGHT IN A
HIGH RISE HOTEL FIRE
A. Using a hanger from the closet, poke holes in the walls
where there are no studs. A hole every four feet should be
enough.
B. Using towels and a tub full of water, wet the walls down
frequently.
C. Spray hairspray or shaving cream lightly over the walls.
HOW TO DRIVE WITH A JAMMED ACCELERATOR
A. Prop up the pedal with a small cushion or something soft and apply
minimal pressure to the accelerator.
B. Use only the brakes to drive the car, pushing down to go slowly and
lifting up to increase speed.
C. Put the car into neutral before easing onto the brakes and come to
a complete stop before switching back into drive.
WHAT TO COLLECT THE BUILD A RAFT
A. Get two ponchos, some brush, two large saplings and rope
or sturdy vines.
B. Get two plastic bags filled with air, a can of meat and six
lightweight but long sticks.
C. Get a pair of shoes tied together, a bed sheet or shirt torn
into strips and some lightweight dirt or sand.
HOW TO ATTACK AN ALIEN

identify.

B. Open your trunk or hood to make your car more visible to
other drivers.
C. Leave the overhead light on and the engine running, so you
can be seen.
HOW TO PREPARE A CAR TO BE HOT WIRED
A. If it's a standard transmission, put it in neutral. If it's an automatic,
put it in park.
B. Make sure the lights, radio and wipers are turned off.
C. Put the emergency brake on and curb the wheels.
