Pack 64 was first chartered on April 1, 1949 by the
First United Methodist Church of Dayton, lending 55
years of service to the boys of Dayton, Texas. First
United Methodist is currently pastored by Jay
Barnes. We are in the Trinity District, a division of
the Three Rivers Council. Our Cubmaster is Jay Lee
and our Assistant Cubmaster are Trisha G.
Our pack runs a 12 month program starting in June
and ending in May. In the last 5 years we have
averaged approximately 70 boys. Our pack includes
several dens of different ranks.
Pack 64 enjoys family oriented camping and
community service. Our scouts work tirelessly
toward their advancements, crafts, camping skills
and preparing for upcoming Pack Gatherings where
they perform skits and songs, receive awards and
achievement recognition.
The dens meet weekly with the boys and our
leaders attend a monthly Leader's Meeting. Our
leaders also attend extra trainings such as
Roundtable meetings, which are held on the 2nd
Thursday of the month. The Pack also holds Pack
Gatherings monthly either on the 4th Thursday of
the month or on the weekends such as our Pine
Wood Derby.
Our scouts have the opportunity to attend several
camp outs a year, some are just for cub and an adult
and others are family camp outs for all to join. Our
monthly Pack Gatherings are usually held in the
Fellowship hall of the First Methodist Church in
Dayton.
We have two major fund-raisers a year, Popcorn
sales in October, and our Cub & Pal Cake Auction,
held in February.
Our boys are happy, healthy role models for our
community and we are proud to be associated with
them in this capacity. If you wish to join us, either as
a volunteer or a member of our Pack, please visit
our "Join Us" page.
